Spring 2020 WIAA Scholastic Awards

Each athletic season - fall, winter & spring - school districts in Washington State submit team GPAs to the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA). For the 2020 Spring Sports Season each varsity team at Mt. Spokane & Mead High was honored with either an Outstanding (3.5-4.0 GPA) or Distinguished (3.00-3.49 GPA) Award. Read more . . .

3A Scholastic Cup Champions 2020

Congratulations to Mt. Spokane High School on earning this year's 3A WIAA Scholastic Cup - the very first in school history. The Scholastic Cup is WIAA's most prestigious annual school award. It recognizes the top school in each of the six WIAA classifications based on academic, athletic & sportsmanship excellence.

2020 NEWESD 101 Regional Art Show Winners

Congratulations to seven Mead School District student/artists who walked away with the Board of Directors Award, Avista Award, plus two 1st place and three 2nd place awards at this year's NEWESD 101 Art Show. Read more . . .

New Home for old Mead Middle School Memorabilia

Repurposed from the old Mead Middle School building is this beautiful stained glass window created in 2003 by Monte Moore (retired teacher) with assistance from multiple students whose names are etched in the glass. This piece of memorabilia is now hanging in the foyer of our Maintenance Facility (12510 N. Market) and is visible from the road at night. Read more . . .

WIAA Winter Team Scholastic Awards

We are proud to announce the Mead School District is home to two WIAA Academic State Champions - Mt. Spokane 3A Cheer (3.731 GPA) and Mt. Spokane 3A Drama (3.423 GPA). In addition to these two overall state champions many other Mead High & Mt. Spokane sports and activities were recognized for their academic achievements. Read more . . .

Back-to-Back-to-Back 3A Wrestling State Champions!

In what is shaping up to be a dynasty, Mt. Spokane High School is once again this year the 3A State Wrestling Champion! Congratulations to Head Coach Travis Hughes and the entire team, which includes two 3A Individual State Champions (Ky Haney - #145 & Casey Howerton - #152) and two 3A Academic State Champions (Riley Buth & Jacob Carr) who are both 4.0 GPA students.

Robotics Competition Winners

On Saturday, February 22, Mt. Spokane High School hosted the annual Mead School District Robotics Competition. The winning team, from Mead High, included Brendan Mullins, Nic Caballero, Parker Helgeson & Alex Hajjar. Read more . . .
